David Lidley QPM Deputy Chief Constable Leicestershire Constabulary 200 - 2009

During a career spanning 33 years he has held command position at all levels and served in many areas of the country including large urban and sparsely populated rural communities.
His responsibilities have been many and varied including criminal investigation, uniform and road policing, event planning, operation specialist section, mounted and dog section, firearms and public order training, VIP and royalty protection.
David has held a number of national roles including counter terrorism planning, civil nuclear emergency planning, performance management and until recently he was the ACPO representative on the IPCC Advisory Board, Vice Chair of the ACPO Professional Standards Committee and Chair of the Complaints and Discipline Group.
Currently he is responsible, on behalf of the ACPO, for developing the new police discipline and performance system.
In 2002 he was awarded the Queens Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
