David Warcup Deputy Chief Constable Northumbria Police
David Warcup has been with Northumbria Police since 1976, when he joined as a constable in Newburn. He has had wide responsibility in both uniform and intelligence roles and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief Constable in October 2000.

He became Deputy Chief Constable in June 2005.

Mr Warcup was Detective Chief Inspector then Superintendent at Gateshead East, before becoming Chief Superintendent in charge of Operational Support, his last role before completing the Strategic Command Course at Bramshill.

He also has a diploma in applied criminology and police studies from Cambridge University.
