Chair Carving
This hand carved Grimsby Borough Coat of Arms, was the back plate on the chair used by the Chief Constables of the Grimsby Borough Police dating back to the mid 1800's until the chair was disposed of in 1957 when the Police Station was transferred to the new site in Victoria Road. The plaque was removed and retained by PC 71 Len Rayner by kind permission of the Mayor's sergeant.
